Door County

VACATION!!!!
We had a blast this weekend in Door County! My parents and grandparents each own places up there so we went to hang out and relax. We drove up Wednesday night after work and made really good time. We stopped for dinner and gas and made it to my parent's place a little after 10pm.
Thursday started with a lot of coughing and snot from little miss. We all got up and got going. We went to a parade in Bailey's Harbor and my grandpa was in it. It was Jillian's first parade and she likes watching the horses and tractors. By the end of the parade she was sleepy and drifted in and out of sleep. Afterwords we hit up the craft show for lunch and a little looking. Before we left we went to the ice cream social. We then headed back our place for awhile and I took a nap! We stopped over at our friends' the Aiken's place to see them. We had a roast cooked in the dutch oven and Jillian enjoyed sitting in her stroller and watching us eat. After dinner we went to Wilson's for ice cream. I went dairy limited a year ago and when even stricter once Jillian was born so I have not had much ice cream. I had to tell the lady to stop scooping, a first for me at Wilson's. Jillian sat in her carseat and watched us all eat. We then took off for Bailey's Harbor again to watch the fire works. We got the perfect parking spot and headed down to the docks. There were many people lighting off their own fire works too. Jillian watched the fireworks off and on and fell asleep before they were over. We headed back and went to bed.
Friday started with more coughing. We had an egg bake in the dutch oven and then mom, Jillian, Brent and I headed to sister bay to take Brent to the walk-in. His throat was really hurting. We dropped him off and headed down the hill into town and he called saying they could not see him until after lunch so we needed to pick him up. We went back and got him and stopped at Shopko to get some swim diapers. They only had they in size large, however we did find her sunglasses, sandals, and sunscreen. We then headed to Nelson's because while we were out dad was back trying to fix the front door that had started to rot. We found Jillian a new swimsuit with a swim diaper built in and it was on clearance for $10! We got what we needed and headed back to give dad his stuff. Then we took off again to bring Brent back to the walk-in. We headed back down the hill and went into a children's store and a cupcake shop. Jillian pooped at the cupcake shop but surprisingly not a blow out. We stopped at the confectionery and then went back and picked up Brent. He has tonsillitis. We stopped at the Top of the Hill shops, and I am bummed Baby Bella is not there anymore. I love boutique baby stores!
We went back to the house and took Jillian for her first time swimming. Swimming for her the rest of the summer will be a little different because of having an open incision on her belly. She LOVED swimming! She liked splashing around. After swimming we went to Julie's for dinner with my parents and grandparents. After dinner we went shopping in Fish Creek and then headed back. We set her up and put her in her stroller by the fire and Tim and Liam joined us. We got back in to put her to bed, mom opened her backpack to find a puddle of milk. The bag had a little hole in it just past the wheel in the pump and was pumping some milk into her and some milk onto itself. We figured out how to rig hanging the bag since how the backpack was soaked and we did not have an IV pole with us. We were creative.
Saturday morning we woke up and went to the Viking for breakfast. It was packed! We then headed to visit our relatives at Bee's and Jillian got to watch the pies being made. She thought it was cool to watch! We took a drive in the county and then went to the beach in Sister Bay. First Jillian went for a ride in the swing at the park. Her grandpa pushed her just like he use to do for me. She loved swinging and they are easy to hang a pump off of.
We then took Jillian down to the water. She liked watching to waves roll in. After a while I let her just sit in the sand where the waves meet the sand. She kept trying to eat the sand :) We dried her off and hung out for a little bit.
We stopped back and picked up my grandmother and headed to the state park for a hike. I put Jillian in the moby wrap and walked that way. She loved watching the trees. She fell asleep part way into the hike and she suddenly became very heavy! By the end of the hike we were both very sweaty!
We then headed to the Sister Bay Bowl for dinner. I love supper clubs! Jillian was so well behaved and sat nicely in her carseat except when she pooped. We headed back and went for a late swim. She hung out with us out by the fire again.
Sunday we woke up and had a quick breakfast and started packing things up. We left around 11 and stopped at the fudge house and a winery on the way out. Traffic in Sturgeon Bay was bad. We took the Oshkosh rote home. While we were driving I was looking at sale ads on my phone and found that the next carseat that I wanted for Jillian was on sale at Babies R Us for 3 days only. We stopped at the Babies R Us in Appleton and Brent changed her poop and i pumped. We got her the new carseat and some clothes from the clearance rack. We then headed to Dan's parents' and visited and looked at all the hard work they had been doing in their back yard. We then headed to the outlet mall in Oshkosh to stop at Carters. After Carters we met Dan and his parents for dinner. Jillian was sleepy and that point and was fussy by the end of dinner but it was still nice to see everyone! We then hit the road again and came home.
Overall it was a really nice weekend! I enjoyed the relaxation and it is probably the only vacation we will take for the next few months so I am very thankful for the little break.
