Yesterday I took her back to her dr. Her pulse ox was 95 and she was upset and just wanted to be held. She was not talking to much of anyone and fussed when I put her on the examining table. These are all not like her at all. She is normally my little charmer at the doctor's office. Those days when she is in the "gray"' zone and we take her to the doctor she tends to pull all of her energy out for them and still tries to be cute, but not yesterday (or Friday).
The doctor listened to her lungs and asked when her last neb was, she was just about due. The dr asked how far we were from home, about 30min. She said we would give her a neb there and then the dr would relisten to her lungs because they did not sound good.
She looked at Jillian's ears which still have some drainage but look a lot better then Saturday. She said the tubes in her ears were doing what they needed to do.
The nurse came in and set up Jillian's neb. She is such a big girl and will hold her own neb. We looked at pictures on my phone while she did her neb.
The doctor came back in and listened to her lungs and said they made improvement with the neb. She said to give her a call on Wednesday and let her know how Jillian is doing. We are trying to keep Jillian out of doctor offices as much as possible because there are so many germs there this time of year and we don't need her picking anything else up while her body is fighting so hard to just breath right now. She said that if she has not really turned the corner by Wednesday we will talk about changing antibiotics. She also prescribed another 3 days of steroids. She got a large dose of steroids last Tue in the ER, was on predisone from Thursday to Saturday, and now we have restarted again.
It has been a while since something hit her this hard. We were really fortunate that the flu did not hit her harder back in December. I was looking back at old blog posts the other day... and it is strange to look back at the past year looking at sickness (recorded keeping is one of the main reasons that I blog because it keeps a written account because my brain does not remember it all). She has been sick with something each month since August. Not all of them have lasted long, the stomach flu and influenza A each lasted less then a week, however this is the second time this fall/winter that her lungs have been hit with a multi week illness. We will see what Pulomonology has to say when we see them later in the month.
Last night was really hard for her again. She did not really fall asleep until about 3am. She kept waking up coughing and then crying. She fell asleep yesterday doing her 6pm neb and woke up when we brought her to bed at 8. After that she would fall asleep for about a half hour or so and then would wake up. It was a long night! It has been a week since a "normal" night of sleep and my body is feeling it today!
Thank you to each person who has sent a note saying they are praying for us. It means SO much to us. A HUGE thank you to my parents for all of the help they have been this round of sickness! I am so grateful.
