Chicco Nextfit Vs. Evenflo Symphony DLX

Car seat safety is something that is important to me. Our 4yr old is still rear facing and will be until she hit the rear facing limits.
I was in a car accident when I was 5. I watched what happened when the person in the other car was not wearing a seat belt and neither of the vehicles were going at high speeds. We spend a lot of time in the car. We drive up to Children's at least once a month and it is an hour each way. We drive to therapy each week and that is a half hour each way. I want to make sure my kids are safe with all that time in the car.
While all car seats legally sold in the US have been proven to be safe, I prefer easy to use because the easier the seat is to use the more likely it will be used correctly. You can have a safe seat but if your kid isn't in it right it doesn't really matter.
We own two different convertible car seats: the Evenflo Symphony DLX and the Chicco Nextfit. We use them in a Honda Odyssey and a Toyota Highlander.

Comparisons:

Install with LATCH:
Winner: Symphony! I LOVE how easy it is to install. This is one of the big differences between the DLX and LX models of this car seat. The DLX has a self ratcheting system. It is easy to get the LATCH connectors on and then all you do is push it down and it tightens itself. It is so easy to get it in right and tight. The Nextfit is easier to install then basic LATCH and is not bad to install but I find to Symphony easier.

Install with Seatbelt:
Winner: Nexfit. It has built in lock offs to help to get the install in tight. The Symphony does not have lock offs.

Rear facing height:
Winner: Nextfit. This is why we bought the Nextfit when my oldest was 3, because she was close to the rear facing height on the Symphony and it is safer to be rear facing so we decided to buy the Nextfit since we would have a second child in a convertible soon anyhow.

Easy to clean:
Winner: Nextfit because we have the zip off top at our house, however my mom has the base level Nextfit and I find it and the Symphony are the same level of work to get apart.

Straps:
Winner: Symphony. The piece on our Nextfit to get it to more up and down can be a pain. I also like that the straps on the Symphony move independently of the head support because I find it easier to have it so that her head is 1in below the top of the seat and the straps are below her sholders, with the way our daughter is build it is harder with the strap/headrest placement on the Nextfit.

Level:
Winner: Nextfit. The Nextfit has a bubble level where the Symphony has a line that is hard to tell if it is level.

Overall I really like both seats. I have yet to see the "perfect" seat but both of these are really good and I find them easy enough to use to I feel like I am doing it right. I would suggest either of these seats!
