Wish trip Day 1

We just got home from an amazing trip... Jilli's wish trip!!!

We went to Disneyland in California. We had never been there before.

My brother and his girlfriend live in CO so we do not see them very often, however they were both able to get off of work to join us in CA and then my parents found out that they would be able to join too (it all fell together in the last month) so we were able to have a big family trip which we have not done since the girls.

A limo picked us up at our house on Monday morning and drove us to Midway. Jilli and I watched the video from Jon Foreman's aftershow in the limo. My parents met us at the airport and we checked in and got through security. They said that because it was Jilli's wish trip that they would allow all of us to preboard... man this made life so much easier... I get why the rule is one person only with the person who needs to preboard but for us having my parents able to preboard with us made life so much simpler and I wish that it is something we could do on other trips.

We boarded the plane and they let Jillian see the cockpit! The flight we were on was an all female crew which Jilli thought was really cool. They let her see how the plane works and then we went back to our seats. The plane ride was 4 1/2 hours and there was a fair amount of it that was bumpy. The girls played iPad most of the time and Jilli did a few hidden pictures.

My brother's flight got into LA first and the girls were excited to meet him at the airport. We got our luggage and headed to get onto the Avis bus to get our rental car... the bus situation was a pain because the first one wouldn't take Jilli on her wheelchair... the second one didn't have tie downs and they were not helpful... but once we got to the Avis lot the person at the desk was very helpful. We got a brand new mini van and the person in the lot went and got the van for us and brought it up so we didn't have to treck through the lot. (my parents and brother took a bus to Disneyland).

I survived driving through LA traffic and honestly it was not as bad as I thought it would be. There was a huge butterfly migration going on when we were driving and there were so many butterflies that it looked like there was confetti falling from the sky.

We arrived at the hotel and got checked in. We had a room with the pool view!

We got settled and then headed into Downtown Disney to find dinner. We ate at Jazz Kitchen Express which was really yummy! The boys took Jilli and Lydia to the Lego store and mom and I went to the dress shop and the Disney store to buy the girls autograph books.

We then headed back to the hotel, hooked the girls up and went to bed (well the boys went to Trader Sams).

In the limo... she was dressed as Elsa so she pretended to shoot ice at everything
